On March 6, 2026, we had our 8th award event. During the event, we had dinner, gave gifts, and door prizes to the guests and honorees. The Grammy Consideration Recording Artist, Janice Peterson Townsend, and Recording Artist, Marcus Jordan, ministered to us in song.
The River Awards was created as an event to honor God's people in the arts. Our 2026 honorees are the following:
Recording Artist of the Year, Marcus Jordan, has two major articles written in the EIN Presswire and the Chicago Journal about winning our award.
Artist of the Year, Yvonne Arceneaux, and her paintings are profound and of high-end quality with powerful messages.
Kingdom Builder of the Year, Apostle Jacqueline Phelps. She is amazing at how she helps to build God's people. She leads a powerful group of women in ministry.
Community Supporter & Activist of the year, Dr. Nissi Hamilton. She was a victim of human-trafficking, but God saved her, turned her life around, and called her forth to save others out of trafficking.
Song of the Year, God Never Gave Up On Me, Johnny B & Us. The song is Johnny's real-life testimony. He is a writer, guitarist, and composer.
Musician of the Year, Keith Eason, who is an anointed artist. He has also written a book, "Houston Gospel Sound".
Dance Ministry of the Year, Purpose With Passion "PWP" Dr. Adrienne Rowe. She has taught the youth how to express themselves through dance. Her dancers are so passionate and in unity.
During the River Awards, we will give out surprise awards to the individuals God has chosen. The Surprise Awards are heart-warming and tear-jerking. The recipients generally drop their jaws, and their mouth is wide open with shock!
The 2026 River Awards surprises went to the Psalmist of the Year, Janice Peterson Townsend; Promoter of the Year, Greg Lyons, CEO/Founder of Uncle G's Productions. He has helped artists get to the Stellar and Grammy level. Janice has a voice that sounds like angels singing from the kingdom of God. Finally, the Venue of the Year, The Grand Upper Room, Yetunde Osos. The Grand Upper Room is a very p[olished and beautiful place. Yetunde is a very anointed woman of God, and she gave a sponsorship package for us to use. We decided to give the River Awards through 12 Stones Kingdom builders, our 501c3 non-profit Organization.
12 Stones Kingdom Builders was designed to help low-income individuals in the arts. We were so honored by the donations, volunteers, and sponsorships we received from everyone.
A special thanks to the following people: Lioness Arise for the beautiful ice buckets, and hand sanitizer with out River Awards logo; Deborah Arise for the linen; Mayes Trucking, LLC for the sponsored seats; Dr. Nissi Hamilton for financial support; International Recording Artist, Onyx, for sound and music; Maze of Design for the slide show and music; and all of our volunteers.
